About Me
I was raised on the edge of a forest in the rocky foothills of southern New Hampshire. As a child, I wandered that forest for hours, often stumbling upon crumbling old farms that had been abandoned hundreds of years before.
This was food for my vivid imagination and love of storytelling, so it was no surprise to my parents that when I grew up, I studied literature in college and film in graduate school. After years spent telling stories as a performance poet and creative marketing writer, I was inspired by my precocious story-loving daughter to begin writing tales for children.
My first book, Charlie the Chicken Finds Her Voice, was created in conversation at the family kitchen table in my adopted home of Oakland, California. Under the imprint of Bonifide Books, more stories are in the works, including a graphic novel for kids. Stay tuned!
